Bad Bullet interview

Hi Bad Bullet! What’s the meaning of your band’s title? What’s the origin of that name? Have you changed the band’s name before?
Hello! The name comes from an alcoholic beverage from our favorite bar.
The name has no deeper meaning.
Yeah, we changed the band’s name two times before… from „bad“ to „worse“ to Bad Bullet *lol*
What genre of music do you consider your work to be? Who are your major influences?
We see ourself in „Grunge“ „Rock“ and a little bit of „Metal“.
Our major influences are „Nirvana“ „Foo Fighters“ „Nickelback“ „Rise Against“ and also in some parts „Metallica“.
How long have you all known each other? How did you meet?
We (Manuel, Steven, Gernot) knew euch other for 7 years. We all played at the same soccer club in our city….. that’s how the story gets started.
Michael joined the band through Gernot. They knew each other through their work
When did you form your band? What inspired you to make music together?
The band was founded in 2013 by Manuel (Rhythm Guitar + Vocalist), Gernot (Lead-Guitar) and Steven (Drums). Each of us had the dream to play in a band and one day we came to speak about that. It was a gift that everyone played the right instrument.
Are you a member of any music organizations?
What can you tell me about your instruments? (i.e., Are you subject to brand loyalty or will you play with whatever’s available? What made you choose the instruments you have now? Was it cost or was it a style/model/brand/color preference?
We (Guitar and Bass) are huge fans of the Esp and the Esp Ltd brand. Awesome guitars for a good price. Sure we also play „No Name“-brands, but we are in love with the Esp brand.
We chose this brand because of the sound and the playability and a little bit of the style 😀
Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?
We are only at the start, so we played mostly only smaller gigs, but we played 5 bigger concerts this year in Graz and Voitsberg (Austria, Styria).
Which songs do you perform most frequently? Do you ever play any covers? Do you have a set play list?
We play the whole CD – you do not have so many songs in the beginning.
Yes, we use a set play list.
And yes we play some covers: Smells like teen spirit (Nirvana) and Prayer of the Refugee (Rise Against).
Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs? Do you think these topics will change over time?
This is the job of Gernot.
The main themes are the things that happens to him in life and sometimes he uses storys to write a song.
Yes, this topics will change ….. daily.
Could you briefly describe the music-making process?
You mean a new song? Gernot writes the lyrics and the basic idea of the song for everyone. Then we try the song. Everyone tries to find their way into the song – and in the end, you have something completely different from the beginning – it’s always a surprise and this is awesome.
What are your rehearsals generally like? Do you have a set time each week in which you practice or are rehearsals more spontaneous?
It’s difficult, because everyone works. We always rehearse spontaneously.
How has your music evolved since you first began playing music together?
Our music is becoming more dynamic and interesting because everyone gets more out of themselves.
What has been your biggest challenge as a band? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
The biggest challenge is the cohesion of the band. Yes we do, because everyone knows, that you can win only in the team.
What’s your ultimate direction for your band? Are you seeking fame and fortune?
Fame and fortune would be great, but in the foreground is currently the fun. Maybe one day we will get the chance.
What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?
Find the right people, have fun, do something together after the rehearsals and the most important – dream big.
How can fans-to-be gain access to your music?

Is there anyone you’d like to acknowledge for offering financial or emotional support?
Sure – Our familys for the motivation and the support, Nino Markgraf from „Abnormal Audio Assault“ Studios and our labelboss Philipp Gottfried, for his work and his time.
Any last words?
We will thank you for this interview.
Give everything to achieve your dreams.
Thank you and Rock on 😉
